About Laura

Laura graduated from St. John Fisher College with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management. She has an extensive background in both sports and hospitality, with over 10 years in the industry. In 2013 Laura worked for the PGA of America during the PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club. During her time with the PGA of America, Laura worked in Corporate Sales and Hospitality. She has also worked for the Walt Disney Company, Delaware North Companies and the Buffalo Bills. Laura is also a published writer. She was a Sports Reporter for the Richmond Times-Dispatch and wrote her senior thesis, which is now published, on the Motivations of Digital Media Consumers on Facebook and Twitter.Laura likes to run in her free time. She has completed two marathons and 11 half marathons. Her favorite football team is the Denver Broncos and her favorite College Basketball team is Syracuse Orange. Laura also has two dogs (Ovechkin and Rose) and one cat (Tootles).

About Meghan

Meghan Brennan was raised outside of Washington D.C. in Chantilly, Virginia. She is a graduate of James Madison University, where she majored in Hospitality Management with a minor in Business. During her time in college, she did an operations and administration internship with Mount Vernon Country Club in Alexandria, Virginia. She was a member of the International Hospitality Honor Society and a National Service Sorority. Upon graduation, she moved to Virginia Beach and worked at Princess Anne Country Club in Virginia Beach as a server. Meghan joined us in August 2020 as our front desk Club Life Concierge. As the Director of Member Experience, Meghan hopes to grow member engagement and is excited to become an essential part of Greenbrier’s future success. In her free time, Meghan enjoys going to the beach, spending time with her family, cooking and playing with her chocolate lab puppy, Beau!

About Gerald (Jerry)

Chef Jerry joined the Greenbrier team in October and quickly made a positive impact in the kitchen. Jerry has a Bachelor of Science degree in Culinary Arts and an Associate degree in Hotel Restaurant Management from Michigan State University. Jerry previously served as the Executive Chef at James River Country Club in Newport News and Cedar Point CC in Suffolk. In addition to working as the Executive Chef at several Italian restaurants in Virginia Beach, Jerry spent several years in Florida, where he served as the Executive Chef at Captiva Island Yacht Club, the Imperial Golf Club, in Naples, FL, and Pazzo Cucina Italiano in Naples, FL.

About Scott

Scott Wasco grew up in Chesapeake, VA and graduated from Western Branch High School in 1996. In 1999 Scott relocated to southern California to attend the Professional Golfers Career College. Upon graduation, he and his fiancé Kristin (now wife), decided to start their lives off together in California.He began his professional career as an Assistant Golf Professional at the Southern California Golf Associations Golf Club. While there Scott worked hand-in-hand with the PGA Tour as they hosted PGA Tour Q School multiple years. In 2008 Scott had the opportunity to help open up the Journey at Pechanga as their First Assistant Golf Professional. The high-end resort was voted by Golf Digest as their “4th Best New Course of 2008”. About Ryan

Ryan was born and raised in Worcestershire, England, and started playing golf at the age of 15. As he moved through the junior ranks, he quickly realized that all he wanted was a career in the golf industry. Ryan began in the maintenance department at the YMCA at the Pines Golf Club before becoming Director of Golf there, where he was in charge of tournament set-ups and scoring, custom equipment orders, golf instruction, running the First Tee program and more. Ryan lives in Elizabeth City, NC, with his wife and three children. He is extremely happy to be at Greenbrier and a part of our great team.

About Ben

Ben has been in the turf industry for 20 plus years and has worked at clubs in five southeastern states. He has a degree in turfgrass management and a solid understanding of the game of golf since he was a competing junior on the AJGA tour. He has worked with many different grass cultivars and has extensive experience with L-93 Bentgrass greens in the transition zone. Ben was the superintendent at Greenbrier from 2008 to 2014 and is very happy to be back at the club.

About Anthony

Anthony Jones has over 25 years of fitness training experience as an AFAA/Rebook Certified Instructor. He began his fitness career in the Air Force where he was tasked to design a fitness program for his squadron which other detachments mimic. It was instrumental in helping the squadron meet their Physical Fitness Level requirements. After retiring from the USAF he came to GCC and started working on the tennis courts and then later was moved to the gym where he was the closing assistant manager. And was given the opportunity to do personal training.In 2007 he trained one of his clients for the Virginia and Washington DC Figure Fitness Competition where she won 1st place victory in both the Va. and Wash. DC competition. He also assisted the Athletic Director at that time also to 2nd place finishes in the same competition.
